Product Details

Real Beaver Tail for Sale for taxidermy crafts preserved in formaldehyde. These beaver tails will measure between approximately 7 inches and 11 inches in length and 4 inches and 6 inches wide.  These tails are sticky when you touch them and are very oily.  Preserved beaver tails will have an odor from the formaldehyde that will subside once they are aired out.  The ends of the beaver tails have been painted black.  Under the scaly skin, a beaver's tail is made up of a spongy fat with a tail bone running down the middle.   These tails are from wild beaver sourced from licensed trappers.  They are 100% Real - Not Replicas.  No 2 will be identical.  They will vary in size, shape and coloring.  They will have natural imperfections.

The American beaver's most noticeable characteristic is the long, flat, black tail. A beaver's tail not only helps it swim faster, but can also be used to make a loud alarm call when slapped against water. In addition, the large tail helps the beaver balance when carrying a heavy log or tree trunk. The surface of the beaver's tail is leathery with a fish like look, and course hair covers the tail where it joins the body.  Tails measure 6 to 12 inches long and 4 to 5 inches wide and are about 3/4 inches thick. Under the scaly skin, a beaver tail is made up of a spongy fat with a tail bone running down the middle

You will receive a beaver tail that looks similar to those pictured.
