We have hand selected a number of beautiful polished red abalone shells and natural red abalone shells for our customers who want to see exactly what they are buying. Our hand selected polished red abalone shells vary in size from 4 inches up to 8 inches in length. The outer rough layer was removed, revealing a beautiful red and white mother of pearl layer. The shell is then polished to a shine. We also have selected natural red abalone in sizes 4 inches up to 8 inches. Some will have a blend of teal green with red and others will be more solid red. Red abalone is the largest, and most common abalone found in the northern part of the state of California. These large shells can be found along the west coast of North America, from Oregon, United States to Baja California, Mexico. The shell is large, thick, and dome-shaped. It is usually a brick red color externally.
