Authentic Antelope Jaw Bones for Crafts measuring between approximately 8 and 9 inches.  They have been cleaned but will have patches of discoloration.  Antelope jaw bones,  have various uses including crafting, tool making and as education tools in classrooms. They can be used to create knife handles, dreamcatcher frames, windchimes, for painting bone, scrimshaw art and shadow boxes. Additionally, they are used in taxidermy and can be incorporated into home decor and crafts. They are also kept for record-keeping purposes, such as aging deer. 

The age of a deer can be estimated from the dental characteristics of the lower jaw. The majority of deer harvested are aged using the tooth replacement and wear technique. This technique simply requires determining which teeth are present in the jawbone and how worn those teeth are.
