Chicoreus virgineus, common name the virgin murex, is a species of sea snail in the family Muricidae, the murex snails or rock snails. These shells will measure between 2 and 2-1/2 inches .They are heavy-bodied shells mostly white or cream colored with hints of pink on the aperture. They are found in shallow waters of the Red Sea and Indian Ocean.
