Wholesale Carved Powder Horns with a leather strap and several carved rings at the tip area, a wood finial at one end and a wooden plug at the tip end that can be twisted and removed in order to fill the horn with gun powder. Our powder horns are made out of real Indian cattle horns and have a marble look with a blend of colors. All have been polished to a light shine. They are perfect for use in Civil War Reenactments and horn decor. Our Power Horns, measure approximately 14 inches to 18 inches measured around the curve of the horn using a cloth tape measure from the wooden finial to the wooden powder horn plug.

A powder horn is a container for gunpowder, and was generally created from cow, ox or buffalo horn. The term may also be used for any personal container for gunpowder, although powder flask is the strictly correct term. Powder horns were used for storing gun powder to refill guns or cartridges. With a cord attached to the ends, soldiers, militiamen, riflemen, and hunters could easily carry the horns over their shoulder while out in the field.
