Extra Large Warthog Tusk Wholesale and Individually, for Carving and for Scrimshaw Art, ranging in size from 11 inches to 11-7/8 inches, measured around the curve of the tusk using a cloth tape measure - not straight! These are good, commercial grade tusks. Some may have tiny surface cracks and chips. Warthog ivory is obtained from the African warthog and is used for making knife handles, carvings, making handles for walking canes and for numerous other taxidermy craft projects. Warthogs got their names from the bumps on their faces that look like warts. They also each have four tusks, two on each side of their snouts. The upper tusks are longer and curve toward each other. Warthogs are pigs that live in Africa south of the Sahara.
