Off White Pale Sea Urchin Shells with undertones of pale pinks or greens and some will be mostly off white in color.  Use these small sea urchins in shell crafts and for displaying small air plants.  These off white sea urchins will vary in size from 1-1/4 inches to 1-3/4 inches.  Also the undertones of pinks, greens and whites will vary from urchin to urchin.  Small sea urchins are used as accents on shell wreaths, shell mirrors and are placed in glass containers in coastal home decorating. They are also used to make urchin snowmen for beach Christmas trees.  They are all real - not replicas and will have natural imperfections.   The pink sea urchin belongs to a group of invertebrates called echinoderms.  They have a flattened apple shaped body covered in short spines.  They walk on tiny tube-shaped feet.  The mouth is on the underside of its body and has 5 teeth used to push into its mouth pieces of kelp and scraps of food that drift down from the shallower water.  It can go long period without food.  Once the sea urchin is sun dried the spines fall off exposing the beautiful pink colored shell.
