Real Squirrel Skulls for sale.  Our ground squirrel  skulls (Xerus inauris) and gray squirrel skulls, Sciurus carolinensis have been cleaned and are ready for display. The squirrel skulls measure approximately 2-1/2 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide.  Squirrels belong to family Sciuridae of small or medium-size rodents.  Squirrels live in almost every habitat from tropical rain forest to semiarid desert, avoiding only the high polar regions and the driest of deserts.  The gray squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) is the most common species found in both rural and urban areas. Gray squirrel adult weights range from 12 ounces to one and a half pounds. Though there is some color variation among gray squirrels, most are very similar in appearance.
