Product Details
One extra large Real Chambered Nautilus Shell for Sale, from my personal shell collection.  It measures approximately 7 inches long and 3-3/4 inches wide, measured with a wood ruler.  There is black paint on the shell covering the discoloration caused by the natural secretions of bodily fluid from the animal that lived in the shell. The paint was put on the shell in the Philippines. This Chambered Nautilus Shell is Real - Not a Replica.  Review all photos carefully as you are buying this one.

The
chambered nautilus (Nautilus pompilius), also called the pearly nautilus, is the best-known species of nautilus. The shell, when cut away, reveals a lining of lustrous nacre and displays a nearly perfect equiangular spiral.  The shell is light on the bottom and dark on top. This is to help avoid predators, because when seen from above, it blends in with the darkness of the sea, and when seen from below, it blends in with the light coming from above.
